Enabling Squirrelmail Address Completion
Important Note! If you use this feature, please verify each address chosen to ensure your email only goes to the intended receipients.
Auto-Complete offers address more choice, and with choice comes the possibility of mistakes!
Squirrelmail can now complete email addresses as you type! It will match your typing to first and last name as well as email address.
Here is a quick walk-through to help you enable this functionality:
  1. Click "Options" (at the top, next to compose, addresses, folders)
  2. Click "Address Autocompletion Options (bottom right hand option)"
  3. Place a check-mark in "Enable plugin"
  4. Click "Save"
And that will get you on your way! Compose a new message to try it!
Feel free the customize the other options to your liking!
If you change your mind and wish to revert, simply follow the steps again and remove the checkmark in the "Enable plugin" box.

Tab Key Functionality
If you notice that enabling this plugin changes the way the "tab" key helps you jump between fields, you're correct - it will skip around the subject field now.
To make the order more sensible, do the following:
  1. Click "Options" (at the top, next to compose, addresses, folders)
  2. Click "Display Preferences" (top right hand option)
  3. Locate the third subsection, titled "Message Display and Composition"
  4. Locate the subsection's second-from-the-last option, called "Compose Window Tab Order"
  5. Change the drop-down box to "default".
  6. Click "Save" at the very bottom of the page to save your changes.
Quick Send using the tab key
If you are an avid "tab key user" and would rather not tab through all of the other buttons en route to the send button, do the following:
  1. Click "Options" (at the top, next to compose, addresses, folders)
  2. Click "Display Preferences" (top right hand option)
  3. Locate the third subsection, titled "Message Display and Composition"
  4. Locate the subsection's fourth-from-the-top option, called "Locations of Buttons when Composing"
  5. Change the drop-down box to "Before headers"
  6. Click "Save at the very botton of the page to save your changes.
  7. Compose a new message and verify that tab works the way you want it to.
