Professor publishes research on effectiveness of study skills training for college students

Formal training in study skills did not correct poor study habits common among college students and will likely fail to improve student retention, according to research conducted by Dr. Dharma Jairam, assistant professor in the graduate education program at Morningside College.

Morningside College adds new programs to better personalize college experience

As a small private college located in a thriving community such as Sioux City, Morningside College has a distinct ability to offer a truly personalized college experience tailored to the unique interests and goals of a student. Three new programs that will roll out in fall 2019 are designed to build on that strength. X Path, the Educational Enhancement Program (EEP), and Adventure are all programs that allow students with unique interests and needs an opportunity to gain unique opportunities and gain more experience earlier on in college.

Professor helps plan global entrepreneurs’ conference, 11 students attend

Dr. Pam Mickelson, retired professor of business at Morningside College, recently helped plan The Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO) Global Conference and Pitch Competition in Kansas City, Mo. Eleven students attended the conference with her, and one was a finalist in the pitch competition.

Symphonic Wind Ensemble concert to feature music from around the world

The Symphonic Wind Ensemble at Morningside College will present “Passport,” a concert featuring music from around the world, at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 3, in Eppley Auditorium.
