A student selecting a major offered by the Accounting and Business Department will gain understanding of the core areas needed to participate in the business world today including accounting, law, quantitative methods, management, marketing, economics, management information systems, and finance. These courses or areas present information drawing on knowledge acquired through liberal arts courses and will, therefore, draw upon the student’s general studies background. The business core background will give the student the knowledge needed for admission to many master’s degree programs. In addition to this core knowledge, specialized skills are available to students depending on their major and/or emphasis. Students who wish to double major in business and other areas on campus should contact their advisor.
