Bass-baritone vocalist Grady Klein and tenor vocalist Gage Fenton will present the Marvin and Merry Klass Scholarship Recital at Morningside College at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 27, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave.

The performance is free and open to the public. This recital is performed each semester by the recipients of the Marvin and Merry Klass Endowed Music Scholarship. This is the music department’s most prestigious scholarship for performers.

Klein will perform works by Franz Schubert, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and George Frideric Handel. Fenton will perform works by Schubert, Giacomo Carissimi, Ludwig van Beethoven, Gabriel Fauré and others. Klein’s selections showcase what he has learned during his time at Morningside College, and Fenton’s selections represent music he would like to teach in the future. Klein and Fenton will be accompanied by Michele Grossman, who holds a master’s degree in collaborative piano from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio.

Klein is a vocal performance major from Cambridge, Minn. At Morningside College, he is a member of the Morningside College Choir and Lyric Opera Theatre. He hopes to attend graduate school to pursue music in the future.

Fenton is a music education major from Keokuk, Iowa. At Morningside College, he is in the Morningside College Choir. In the community, he is the vocal director for the Siouxland All City Show Choir. He hopes to teach middle or high school vocal music.
