Educational Technology
Last updated January 19, 2021
Welcome to Morningside College's Educational Technology webpage. Here faculty can find information and resources to help assist them to integrate technology into their courses and to explore possible solutions to their teaching and learning needs.
Who am I?
My name is Kim Christopherson and I serve as the campus Educational Technologist at Morningside College. My role is to support faculty in integrating technology into their courses in a way that addresses faculty and student needs and works to enhance and facilitate student learning. I am a faculty member in the Graduate Education program and I teach both online and face-to-face courses. I like to explore different technologies and to experiment with them in my classes. I do so not only for my own interest, but to share the good, bad, and the ugly with my colleagues.
In addition to being a resource for faculty for integrating technology into their classes, I am also that campus Quality Matters coordinator. This makes me a point person on campus for faculty who are interested in integrating the Quality Matters rubrics into their online and blended course designs.
I view my job as having three important components: 1) being familiar with the trends in educational technology and the different technology tools that can be used for teaching and learning, 2) organizing and delivering faculty development in using educational technology and for online and blended learning, and 3) researching and evaluating the effects of technology tools in the classroom.
