The Department of Information Services coordinates the computer and network resources for the Morningside College campus community. We have three priorities:
- Maintain existing systems to a high standard of service.
We maintain a cluster of high performance servers, terabytes of data storage, a wired and wireless network, safe and secure Internet, fast computers quickly repaired, our Websites, AIMS, CampusWeb, Moodle, and many specialized systems and tools. We are proud that our responsibilities grow each year.
- Support excellent teaching and learning.
Morningside's computer facilities are tuned to teaching and learning. We consult with faculty and students to find, evaluate, support, and provide tools and equipment focused on the best education possible.
- Pursue institutional efficiency.
Our department helps other departments. We streamline data, organize workflows, and coordinate procedures between departments. Often, we provide backup expertise in emergencies. By evaluating hardware and software, making recommendations, and helping with purchasing we are always looking for ways to help others with their work.
