The college supplies a standard twin or extra-long twin bed frame, mattress, power strip, desk, and chair for each resident. (see lofting rules for more information on what is in each room) Extra-long twin sheets will fit standard sized beds.

You really don't need to bring everything you own.

Don't over-pack; Mom and Dad can always ship "care packages" to you!

Consult with your roommate(s) ahead of time so you don't bring duplicate items (for example: TV, fridge, rugs, large furniture)

You can buy things in Sioux City - There is no need to panic if you forget something.

Bedding: What to Bring
These residence hall rooms have the new style lofted beds that are extra long (36”x 80”): Roadman Hall rooms 30-41, 130-142, 230-246, and 330-349, Dimmitt Hall, Poppen Hall, Waitt Hall, Lags Hall, or Garretson Houses. Although not all rooms have extra-long beds, most upper-class housing options do. If you only want to purchase sheets once in your college career it is recommended that you purchase extra-long sheets. They will fit on standard beds.

Items to discuss with your roommate
- TV
- Small fridge (6.0 cubic feet or less)
- Additional furniture
- Lofts (if not provided in room)
Refrigerators:
Can be brought for use in student's rooms, no larger than 6.0 cubic ft. A main refrigerator is provided in the kitchen area of each residence building.
Renter's Insurance
Students are encouraged to have renter's insurance policies to cover the replacement value of possessions. Morningside College does not carry insurance to cover residents’ belongings, such as clothing, notebook computers, computers, TVs, and other valuable personal possessions. In the event of loss or theft, a student will be responsible for the replacement costs. In some cases, your parent's home owner's insurance may cover your personal items, contact your insurance company for confirmation prior to move in.
Storage
There are NO areas for storage of personal items, furniture, boxes, or bicycles during the school year or the summer months. There are storage units available for rent in Sioux City. Check local listings once you get to campus.
