Traditional Rooms Sign-Up

Traditional Housing Sign-Up Procedures

  • All students signing up for traditional housing will need to
    • Complete housing application online
      • Use the same USERNAME and PASSWORD you used to sign in to your Morningside e-mail account
    • Pay their $30 housing registration fee.  Housing registration fee can be paid via credit or debit card online or via cash or check during the designated housing sign-up time
    • Bring signed paper copy of Traditional Housing Application to sign-up table during sign-up time. Printed copies available on the shelf next to the Residence Life Office

 Morningside College reserves the right to make the final roommate selections and transfer room/building assignments.  The housing sign-up process is used for housing preferences only.  By signing up for a room preference, you are not guaranteed any specific room.


  • For all students interested in signing up for Roadman, Dimmitt, & Plex--double & triple rooms
    • Please note there is a very limited number of triple rooms
      • Roadman: 1 triple-room for men located on 1st South
      • Dimmitt: 3 triple-rooms for men located on 3rd West Central, 3 triple-rooms for women located on 3 East Central
      • Plex triple rooms are located on freshman floors and are not assignable during this process.


Traditional Housing Sign-Up Schedule

  • Thursday, March 26th, 11am-1pm, Yockey Room  
    • Dimmitt/Roadman/Plex Non-Freshman Floor Sign-Up for Same Room Only:  Current Residents of non-freshman floors in Dimmitt, Roadman and The Plex can sign-up during this time for their current room.  Students must sign-up with enough roommates to fill the room to capacity (i.e. triple room-3 residents, double room-2 residents). You do not need to sign-up with your current roommate(s). in the event that two different roommate groups sign up for the same room, the group with the higher average housing points will be assigned to the room.
    • Students Changing Rooms (Dimmitt, Roadman, & Plex):  All students signing up with a roommate, may attend this session.  Students who have signed up for their current room may also attend this session if they wish to change rooms or buildings.  Students will be able to list their hall, floor, and/or room preferences but will not be able to sign-up for a specific room.  Students will be assigned in order of average points and will be notified by 5pm, Thursday, April 2nd of their assignments.
    • Students Requesting to be Assigned a Roommate:  All students signing up without a roommate can turn in their application during this time.  Students will be able to list their hall, floor, and/or room preferences but will not be able to sign-up for a specific room.  Students will be assigned in order of average points and will be notified of their assignments by June 20th.
